From Pediatric Patient to Pediatric Provider — and Beyond
From Disempowered Patient to Health Advocate: A Call to Rise Up
It’s been a long and winding road—from pediatric patient to pediatric provider. Along the way, I’ve carried a deep curiosity, a healthy dose of skepticism, and a strong desire to find a better way.
Growing up in a family shaped by trauma and repeated disappointments with traditional healthcare, I often felt unseen. Thankfully, I discovered alternative healing paths early on—where I finally felt heard and supported.
But that wasn’t the end of the journey.
I went on to earn a degree in chemistry, worked in pharmaceutical discovery, became a physician assistant, and spent over a decade practicing traditional family medicine and pediatrics. Still, something was missing.
It wasn’t until I stepped outside the system that I began to see the whole picture—and the real possibility: a space where both traditional and alternative approaches can meet in collaboration, with respect, and with the patient at the center.
That’s why I created Health Keepers United.
This is more than a newsletter. It’s a movement to empower people to stop being passive patients and become active participants in their own health and take charge of their health journey.
I’ve watched people transform their care simply by shifting their mindset—becoming more informed, more engaged, and more confident in navigating the healthcare system.
If you’ve ever felt like the medical model wasn’t built with you in mind, or you’re ready to reclaim your role as a health keeper—you’re in the right place.
